CCA Requirement Estimator

Estimate Your CCA Range

This is a gasoline estimate. Always match your owner's manual or under-hood label.

How This Estimate Works

We convert your engine size to cubic inches and apply a baseline of roughly 1 CCA per cubic inch for gasoline engines. Then we scale the result for climate to help with cold starts.

  • Mild climates: Baseline CCA is usually enough.
  • Cold climates: 10% extra helps offset slower chemistry.
  • Very cold climates: 20% extra is common for reliable cranking.

Tips Before Buying

  1. Match group size and terminals: Use the battery group size finder to confirm fit.
  2. Never downgrade: If the OE spec is higher, follow it.
  3. Check reserve capacity: RC matters if you drive short trips or sit overnight in cold weather.
